Since 1970, we have been turning landscape dreams into a reality.
HISTORY
Sal’s & Bros which is now RMJ Landscapes was founded by Salvador De La Mora Senior in the year 1970 in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, California. Salvador, a Mexican immigrant, was fortunate enough to take part in the Bracero initiative, a U.S. Government program which allowed Mexican laborers into the United States as seasonal agricultural workers. While working in California he fell in love with Santa Barbara and had a dream to one day migrate his family from Mexico to the beautiful city and start a landscaping business that could potentially be passed down to future generations. The business did just that; in 1991 Salvador joined forces with his three sons; Salvador Jr., Joel & Sergio and together took the business further then he could have ever imagined.
Salvador De La Mora originally started Sals & Brothers Landcapes now known as RMJ Landscapes with only ten clients. Over the last twenty-five years Salvador Jr., Joel & Sergio have grown the company to over two hundred clients. Out of that amount seventy-five percent are family home accounts. Although the company works with plenty commercial accounts we love the relationships that have been built over the years with so many of our family home clients. Our success has been maintained by staying local, caring for our employees and giving our clients excellent personal service and attention.
RMJ Landscapes began with only two employees and as the years have passed the business has grown and has stayed consistent in providing a family based work environment and now to over twenty-five employees. One of the many things that sets Sal’s & Brothers Landscapes apart is that most employees have been a part of the team for over twenty years! The company prides itself on making each employee feel like family because at Sal’s & Brothers Landscapes we believe that; “ We must always honor & respect our employees exactly as we would want to honor and respect our customers.”
Salvador De La Mora Senior’s long life dream of passing down the business to his future generations has become a reality with his sons, Sal Jr. & Joel De La Mora, alongside their children who are currently working and growing in the business today. This company could not be possible without Salvador Senior’s unshakable family values, they are, and have been the driving force of this traditional family owned business
